PSYCHOLOGICAL THERAPY

We all go through difficult times in our life. These can include stress, life changes, relationship difficulties/ breakdowns, bereavements etc and these can be difficult for anybody to cope with. Sometimes we are able to get through these difficult times ourselves or with the support of our family or friends. However at other times we may feel that we need some extra help/ support.

I hope this is where we may be able to help.

We are Clinical Psychologists with over 10 years experience of working with adults with numerous difficulties.

Examples of some of these are below:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression/Low mood
  • Grief
  • Loss
  • Life Transition/ changes
  • OCD
  • Phobias
  • Upsetting thoughts
  • Self harming/ Suicidal thoughts
  • Stress
  • Low Self Esteem
  • Trauma
  • Coping with the effects of childhood abuse
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Diagnosis of personality disorder

Our hope would be to help you gain understanding and context for your difficulties and develop ways/skills to help you cope and achieve your full potential.

There is no set amount of sessions. We recognise that everybody is different and everyone's strengths and difficulties are different. The approaches we use are individual to each client, but usually include or are informed by:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
  • Mindfulness
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT)
  • Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT)
  • Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), amongst others.

If you would like to discuss options and costs then please contact us to arrange a short informal telephone conversation so we can either arrange an appointment with you or help to signpost you to the appropriate person/ place.
