We have over 10 years experience and expertise in delivering psychological therapy for individuals living with a long-term health condition, such as diabetes, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue. Based on an initial assessment, we will devise an individual, formulation driven and evidence based approach to therapy. The key therapeutic approaches we draw upon include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focussed Therapy.

We have significant experience of working with people who have experienced either traumatic or acquired brain injuries (e.g., stroke, hypoxia and subarachnoid haemorrhage). We are also experienced in working with clients who have a diagnosis of a neurodegenerative and/or life-limiting illness such as dementia, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, Parkinson’s disease, among others.

Neuropsychological assessment is the process of assessing an individual’s cognitive (e.g., memory, concentration, and planning/organisational skills), emotional/psychological and behavioural functioning. We offer comprehensive neuropsychological assessments to help to inform a diagnosis, treatment plans and to contribute to decisions around practical functioning abilities (e.g., returning to work following a brain injury / neurological illness).

We offer neuropsychological rehabilitation plans, including cognitive rehabilitation based on an individual’s profile of strengths and difficulties obtained through comprehensive neuropsychological assessment. We are able to provide rehabilitation through direct sessions with a client, indirectly through the client’s relatives and/or carers, or via training packages for care teams in residential settings.  In addition, we offer comprehensive functional analysis of behaviours others may find challenging, and ensuing recommendations for behaviour management.

We are experienced at working as part of multidisciplinary teams, within both the NHS and independent sector, to provide a holistic, whole team approach to rehabilitation.

We have 10 years experience in carrying out Mental Capacity Assessments in various specialties within the field of Neuropsychology. For example, a client may require an assessment of their capacity to write a will and testament, consent to care, or manage finances. In all cases, we ensure all steps have been taken to support the client’s decision-making process, informed by a neuropsychological understanding of their presentation, and in collaboration with other professionals involved in their care.
